Kurt Kuss started potting so long ago he doesn't admit when. He met Mike at the Brookline Art Center and they continued potting together at Mudflat Studio in 2003-2005.

Kurt F. Kuss reveals his artistic talents in several areas. He creates jewelry from semi-precious stones, gold and silver. He is also an award winning potter. He spent years as a professional chef in the Chicago area; work he continues by making varieties of chutney, sausages, and desserts. He even made his own wedding cake.

His profession as a chef was cut short by his vision loss, but allowed him the opportunity to begin designing jewelry and working with clay. He is co-owner of Access Umbrella, Inc., a consulting company he runs with his wife and partner, Barbara Ceconi. Access Umbrella was developed to address issues of access for people with disabilities and implementation of universal design concepts. They work with museums, cultural institutions, and corporations across the United States and Canada. He and Barbara have participated for years in the Brookline School's Understanding Disabilities Program. Their motivation is to lower attitudinal barriers that still confront people with disabilities on a daily basis.
